Montana Career Pathways & Dual Enrollment Coordinator

Brief Position Overview
The Program Coordinator position is a (.75 FTE) year-round position that is contingent on annual grant funding. The grant has been successfully funded year after year since 2011. The Coordinator provides leadership and coordination for the development and administration of the Montana Career Pathways and Dual Enrollment programs as directed by the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education for Great Falls College MSU.  This position will manage all of the objectives, activities, and evaluations required in the Strengthening the Montana Career Pathways grant as directed by the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • • Annually research, develop, and write the Strengthening Montana Career Pathways grant for Great Falls College MSU;
  • • Manage the Montana Career Pathways grant budget with support from the finance office;
  • • Provide leadership and oversight for the development, expansion, and administration of Pathways and dual enrollment at Great Falls College in accordance with standards established by Great Falls College and the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education;
  • • Works cooperatively with staff in Recruitment & Enrollment and Marketing & Communication to develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing strategies for dual credit;
  • • Coordinates admission, registration, and orientation support services for dual credit students and families;
  • • Assesses the needs of high school students, faculty and school districts and coordinate programs and courses in response to those needs;
  • • Works with other partners in dual enrollment including but not limited to: Great Falls College MSU faculty and Division Directors, Student Services staff, and advisors; Advisory committees; staff at Great Falls Career & College Readiness Center; staff at Office of Commission of Higher Education (OCHE) and Office of Public Instruction (OPI); other statewide Montana Career Pathways and Dual Enrollment Coordinators;
  • • Represents Great Falls College MSU at regular high school visits, regional, state, and national trainings, meetings, and conferences;
  • • Plans and execute various pathways and dual enrollment events and programs; and
  • • Provides general support to Admissions, Recruitment & Enrollment, and Records, especially as it relates to high school/dual enrollment students.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsBachelor’s degree and/or three or more years of successful K-12 or higher education or related experience;
  • Experience with program development and management;
  • Experience working in higher education;
  • Available and willing to work some evenings and weekends and travel when required (position includes some overnight travel); valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain Montana driver’s license by date of hire;
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software;
  • Evidence of self-initiation and self-motivation for independent follow-through on projects;
  • Evidence of exceptional interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, flexibility, and a high level of professionalism; and
  • • Evidence of ability to understand, summarize, and present information in both written and verbal formats;
  • Evidence of applicant’s ability to conduct group meetings and make formal presentations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience working with secondary and post-secondary education populations including students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
  • Experience working at a two-year institution;
  • Experience with college enrollment services;
  • Experience with planning and executing events such as high school visits, informational meetings, and other presentations; and
  • Experience with competitive grants to include research, development, writing, and management.
