Admissions Counselor
Rocky Mountain College, a small, private, comprehensive institution grounded in the liberal arts, located in Billings, Montana, is accepting applications for an Admissions Counselor. Key Responsibilities include: Recruitment: Travel during the fall and spring months to attend college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events regionally. Enrollment: Assist prospective students navigate the enrollment process – included but not limited to application completion, financial aid, and orientation. Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and community partners to enhance recruitment efforts. Events: Provide support and engage on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, including open houses, campus tours, and admitted student programs. Outreach: Engage outreach initiatives and leverage multiple communication mediums to engage prospective students and provide personalized support throughout the enrollment process. Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to facilitate a seamless transition for admitted students. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of communications and interactions using the institution's CRM system. Position Requirements: ● A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. ● Must be self-directed and able to work well with students, faculty, and staff as part of a team. ● Experience in higher education or a sales related position is a plus. ● Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods. ● Is curious, driven to serve students and committed to student success, able to prioritize and think strategically and able to see the big picture while keeping a close eye on the details. ● Has proven ability to manage multiple tasks, strong interpersonal and communications skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office application and database systems. Key Responsibilities include: ● Compile and analyze data, maintain monthly data reports tracking institutional aid and scholarships; ● Provide financial aid advising services to prospective and current students, and parents covering all aspects of the financial aid process; ● Responsible for formulating both individualized correspondence and form letters in response to students' inquiries regarding all aspects of the scholarship and financial aid process; ● Review the accuracy of financial aid data and verify information with supporting documentation; ● Assist in coordinating, awarding, and processing of federal, institutional and external student aid programs including grants, scholarships, and loans; and ● Assist with Direct Loan processing (check and validate accuracy of federal and private loans certification/ processing/ payments). Position Requirements: ● A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. ● Must be self-directed and able to work well with students, faculty, and staff. ● Experience in higher education, specifically within financial aid is a plus. ● Is curious, driven to serve students, able to prioritize and think strategically and able to see the big picture while keeping a close eye on the details. ● Has proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and perform well on deadline as well as on long-term projects.
