We are hiring for an Academic Coordinator. PAY RANGE:          
$36,000 - $42,000 annual, full-time, 12 mos. per year, benefit eligible
 
Generous Benefits includes:

  • Health/Vision, Dental, Life/ADD & Long-term Disability Insurance: Employer contributes $1,054 per month toward the cost of these benefits--effective immediately upon hire
  • Vacation Leave: May earn up to 15 days per year
  • Sick Leave: May earn up to 12 days per year
  • Holiday Leave: Total of 12 per year (3 are floating holidays)
  • Retirement:
    • Participates in MT Teachers Retirement System
    • Optional 403(b): Employer matches up to 7% of employee's contribution
  • Tuition Waiver:  Employee plus up to two legal dependents (tuition only)

SUMMARY:
The Academic Coordinator acts as the primary contact for high school students for dual credit and college credit opportunities, promotes and exposes students to career pathways, and assists with college applications, registration, and financial literacy. Start date is January 6, 2020.
           
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provides outreach, support, and programs to area high schools with career pathways exploration, financial literacy, and college applications.
  • Provides academic advising and career advising to high school students.
  • Assists potential concurrent enrollment students with college placement and registration process.
  • Works with FVCC faculty and area high school instructors and counselors to facilitate, develop, increase participation, and enhance career pathways for students in coordination with supervisor and recruitment team.
  • Initiates and develops new programs of study and pathway agreements with regional high schools
  • Assists with FVCC Summer Experience and other educational opportunities for high school students.
  • Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality student recruitment.
  • Manages applicable grants; ensures grant objectives are met; maintains files, reports, and contracts; updates information according to policy and regulations.
  • Promotes, encourages, and executes programs of continuous assessment and benchmarking of goals, programs, and services and communicates the results.
  • Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Fosters cooperative relationships with schools, community groups and other external agencies to enhance and promote the College.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in student services to help build strategic initiatives.
  • Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies
  • Attends related trainings and workshops
  • Assists and collaborates with staff on projects or events as needed.
  • Reports to the High School Relations Program Coordinator.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree AND one year of related experience; AND
  • Valid Montana driver’s license with insurable driving record upon employment
