WEBINAR (FREE) | 2017-2018 FAFSA | Preparation, Communication, & Implications

11/10/2016

Hosted by AACRAO, the College Board, & NACAC
This is a joint 3-part webinar series to provide information and resources to college admission officers, with focus on the recent changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This series aims to help admissions officers better understand the move to an earlier submission date.

You may register for free and watch anytime by clicking each webinar's respective link below.

Part 1:  Prepping for Prior-Prior Year: Key Questions for Admission Offices
Developed to help identify opportunities, challenges, and factors to consider to assure a successful transition. Real-life examples from colleagues across the country are also shared. (58 minutes in length)

Part 2: Essential Information for "Road Warriors": Helping Admission Staff Talk with Students and Families about the 2017-2018 FAFSA (Registration required [free])
Admission recruiters are often the first point of contact with families regarding the financial aid process. The 2017 – 2018 FAFSA will be available in October 2016 and recent changes (Prior-Prior Year / Early FAFSA) have created questions and concerns. In order to effectively communicate these changes to this population, admission staff need to be adequately prepared before they hit the road. In this webinar, presenters will discuss best practices in preparing admission officers to speak about early FAFSA to students and families.  (1 hour in length)

Part 3: Practical Implications for the 2017-2018 FAFSA on Admission and Enrollment Management Offices (Registration required [free])
In this third and final webinar, you will receive the latest update from a Department of Education, Federal Student Aid representative on the issue, as well as a review of an AACRAO Sixty Second Survey on institutional responses to the changes. You will also hear from presenters who will discuss how their offices are handling the changes. (1 hour in length)
