WhAT TO DO?

It is that time of year where we team with the Montana Department of Labor & Industry to make sure that MCIS and other online tools are using your correct academic programs listing.  This is very helpful and super important to making sure students, counselors, parents, etc. are getting correct information about your campuses when they use these resources.  

  • Step 1:  Access & download your previous year Campus Academic Program Listing excel file at the blue button on this page.
  • Step 2:  Access Directions and Tips below on how to update your Campus Academic Programs Listing
  • Step 3:  Email your changes back before the deadline.
  • Please check your campus listing & submit changes by no later than February 28, 2022.  Thank you!

Why IS THIS IMPORTANT?

  • The Montana Department of Labor and Industry along with many others use this data to update their records in MCIS and many other search tools that all Montana high schools and counselors use for information about your campus. 
  • To make sure students, parents, counselors, etc. are all getting accurate information about your campus and academic offerings, this step is so important. 
  • Thank you for all your team efforts to keep this information current!

TIPS FOR UPDATING your DATA?


​"CIP Code" Tips & Reminders

 
  • Using the CIP code that best fits your program of study has two advantages:
  1. It helps students make sure they are looking at similar programs in the schools they are comparing.
  2. There is a crosswalk between the Classification of Instruction Programs codes and the Standard Occupational Classification codes. With appropriate CIP code a person can find programs of study to match an occupation.((https://www.onetonline.org/crosswalk/CIP/ shows an example.)
