Reminder | ED Salary Review
The last few years, we have been doing an overall review of our nonprofit's business structure to keep us current. It has been discussed by the Board in the past few years that it might be helpful to put a more formal policy in place for the review and compensation process of the E.D. Therefore, to help with this review, I have included some information that might be helpful. Overall, due to inflation (typically around 2-3% annually), cost of living increases (typically around 2-3% annually), etc, and to avoid us falling into an old pattern of not keeping up with current structure, the board has discussed keeping a closer tracking on this process. In considering raise potential, past Review Committees have considered a smaller percentage raise (maybe as an example 4-5% would keep up with inflation) each year as long as the ED is meeting and exceeding expectations. This way we would automatically keep up with current trends. Feel free to process this as a team and see what you think is best. I am happy to help in any way. If it would be helpful, I would be happy to set up a conference call before you finalize this review to brainstorm ideas if you need me as well. Again, there is no rush. As I mentioned, to help with your salary review process, I have included some current ED salary statistics and current data reports in the above overall report.
Current Salary & Insurance Stipend | Overall, from this research, you will notice that we do still fall below national, regional, and Montana averages for the Executive Director position (The ED's current salary pay is at: $48,841 salary with a $7,200 insurance stipend (which insurance is usually not included in most salary reports).
