FAFSA Now Open!It's that time of year again. The 2025-2026 FAFSA application form is now available.

December MTGU Professional Development: FAFSA Support, December 5, 2024This academic year, MTGU is partnering with the Montana School Counselor Association to provide professional development opportunities to our stakeholders. Please join us Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. for the next one hosted by MTGU. Carroll College Director of Financial Aid Janet Riis will spend the first part of the PD discussing the FAFSA. Montana Educational Talent Search College Access Manager Dawes Elwood will spend the second part of the PD discussing FAFSA support offered through the MUS College Access Arc of Events.

Supporting Students in Healthcare CareersThe Montana Consortium for Urban Indian Health is working on providing mentoring and support opportunities for students interested in healthcare occupations. Frances Altekruse, Workforce Program Manager, will present information on the work she is doing with college students and Urban Indian Organizations (UIO). Please join us to learn more about the work of MCUIH/UIO.  We are also working on having some other organizations join the presentation that work with students and supporting the healthcare occupation pathways.

Important InformationCompass Database
CoBro is currently working on building the 2024-2031 database we will use for the new grant cycle. Please keep your sign-in sheets and activity documents until the database is ready. We appreciate everyone's patience. Once the database is ready we will hold trainings. The current database is designed only for the 2017-2024 data. Please do not add any information at this time. 

 
MTGU State Team Personnel
As of December 2, 2024:
Karen Wilson is back in her role as the MTGU School Grant Manager.
John Kilgour is back in his role full-time as the MTGU Program Manager.
We are actively recruiting for a Senior Project Manager, a Communications Manager, and a Data Analysis Manager. 

 
NCCEP National GU Academy
NCCEP's online conference, National GEAR UP Academy, will be February 3-6, 2024. MTGU will get out applications by the end of this week for those interested in applying for a slot. MTGU will select up to 7 school district and/or campus personnel to attend the virtual opportunity. More information about the PD can be found here: https://www.edpartnerships.org/academy.
